영문초록

This paper aims to analyze the contents of the area of the grammar of the Korean Educational Proficiency Test questions. For this purpose, about 297 items were analyzed from series 1 through 7 of the previous actual tests. The following results are obtained. First, the questions do not reflect the various test goals, leaving test questions biased toward some grammar areas. Second, there is a tendency that similar questions are repeatedly appeared. Third, the questions do not focus on practical grammar for Korean teachers presented in the test guidelines, only testing the knowledge in Korean linguistics. Fourth, integrated problems connecting grammar contents and teaching are insufficient. To overcome these problems, the test should include the grammar questions that reflect communication skills, field practices, and related knowledge of contents and teaching methods. In addition, there is a need for a rating system to assess the test.
