1.spinal cord
Spinal cord level 에서의 motor control은 먼저 세가지 타입의 신경원들이 존재하는데, 처음 두가지는 잘 알다시피 efferemt (motor)와 afferent(sensory)이며, 나머지는 interneuron 이다.
여기서는 interneuron에 대해 자세히 알아 보겠다.
interneuron 은 motor neuron의 수보다 약 30배 가량 많으며 특징은 small and highly excitable cells, often spontaneous active, capable of extremely high firing rate, extesive interconnections with each other(cross,ascend/descend, extend into brainstem)이며, propriospinal neuron(fasciculus proprius)은surrounds the gray matter에 있으면서 연결하여 척수의 위아래 레벨로 이어주고, 대부분의 interneuron은 coordinating the activity of neurons in several segmaents 이다.
즉, 위 그림에서 보는 것과 같이 afferent 와 efferent 사이에 엄청나게 많은 interneuron들이 작용하여 우리의 움직임을 조절한다.
