• Living in Korea
UCR teacher’s purpose is to teach foreign students English. Because UCR teachers were sent to foreign country, they could get a tiny house and some insurance benefit for free. They all think that living Korea doesn’t cost so much, because the utilities cost in Korea is very low. In their free time, they enjoy exercising, shopping, and traveling.
• Feeling about Korea
UCR teacher’s first impression of Korea is all about Korea signs. They were surprised of huge number of signs along streets. They agree that Koreans are so kind. Koreans want to help foreigners even if they are poor at English. In addition, UCR teachers also thought strange when they taking off shoes before get into the house and the heating is coming from the floor.
• Their Work
Their essential work is to teach Korean students English. Their first impression of Korean students was “Studying so hard”. However, they think their studying way is not so good. Korean students are not so confident of giving their own opinions in class room. They only listen to lecture, take notes, and memorize textbook. They say, it’s a culture difference but they recommend that expressing their opinion and thought about lecture is good.
• Evaluate
This report is good for the people who are interested in UCR teachers’ life in Korea. This report is depended deeply on several people’s interviewing so it’s more specific and actual. In addition, because this report contains so specific things, the people who don’t have so much information about Korea can easily understand. However, it also have problem of biasing to only several people’s life.
