Moderating Effects of Task and Individual Characteristics between Leader-member Exchange and Innovative Behavior
Song, Byeong-Sik·Kang Young-Soon
Major verifies of this paper; the direct relationship between LMX and subordinator's innovative behavior; moderators' effects of task and individual characteristics between LMX and subordinator's innovative behavior.
The objects of this research are the employees of 170 firms in jeju, korea and I used 448 samples out of them. I performed the regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis to verify the research model.
The results: first, LMX has positive effect on subordinator's innovative behavior; second, task characteristics(task interdependence, task autonomy) have moderating effects between LMX and subordinator's innovative behavior. Also individual characteristics(collectivism, educational course) have moderating effects between LMX and subordinator's innovative behavior. But job career have not moderating effects between LMX and subordinator's innovative behavior.
This research proves that the fit task characteristics and high LMX quality increase subordinator's innovative behavior, also the fit individual characteristics and high LMX quality increase subordinator's innovative behavior.
Key Words : Leader-member Exchange(LMX), Innovative Behavior, Moderating Effects
