We cannot live without trade
우리는 일상 생활을 해 나가는 과정에서 많은 부분들을 외국으로부터 수입해 온 상품에 의존하고 있다. 식사 후에 마시는 커피, 버스를 움직이게 하는 석유, 휴대 전화의 핵심 부품인 반도체 칩 등이 그 예가 될 수 있다.
We depend on the commodities, which are imported from foreign countries in many parts while living our usual lives. They can be coffee, which we drink after meals, oil, which motorates the buses, semiconductor chips, which are the core part of cellular phones.
또한 많은 국내 기업들이 외국인 노동자를 고용하여 상품을 생산하고 있으며, 국내 기업에 대한 외국인의 투자가 증가함에 따라 외국인이 국내 경제에서 차지하는 비중도 높아지고 있다. 물론 우리 기업이 생산한 옷이나 자동차, 텔레비전 등도 세게 여러 나라에 수출되어, 외국인의 생활을 보다 윤택하게 만들고 있다.
Also many domestic firms are employing foreign workers and are producing commodities and as the investments of foreigners to the domestic firms are increasing, the portion of foreigners in domestic economy is becoming higher. Of course the clothes, cars, television which our companies produced are exported to many countries of the world and they are making the lives of the foreigners richer.
교통.통신 수단의 발달은 이와 같은 국가 간의 거래를 더욱 활발하게 하고 있으며, 이에 따라 국민 경제 상호간의 의존도도 높아지고 있다. 특히, 우리나라와 같이 좁은 국토와 빈약한 부존 자원을 가진 국가들은 다른 나라와 경제 교류를 하지 않고서는 지속적인 경제 발전을 기대하기 어렵게 되었다.
The development of traffic and telecommunication is activating the transaction among countries like these more and according to this, the dependence of international economy is becoming higher. Also like our country, the countries, which have narrow territory and poor existing resources, became hard to anticipate continuous economic development without the economic interchanges with other countries.
