(A)
“Please mister... please, I’m sorry... I didn’t know what else to do,” the kid said. “I threw the brick because no one else would stop. My brother fell out of his wheelchair and I can’t lift him up.” Now crying, the boy asked the man, “Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair?” The man was moved beyond words. He lifted the boy’s brother back into the wheelchair, then took out his handkerchief and wiped the cuts. “Thank you and may God bless you,” the grateful child said to him.
(B)
The man simply watched the little boy push his brother down the sidewalk toward their home. It was a long, slow walk back to the sports car. He never did repair the side door to remind him of this message: don’t go through life so fast. Someone might have to throw a brick to stop you.
(C)
A young and successful businessman was driving a bit too fast in his new sports car. He was watching a kid running out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, a brick hit the car’s side door! Getting angry, he jumped out of the car and grabbed the kid, shouting, “What was that all about and who are you? That’s a new car and the repairs are going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?”
