The colonial period of 1900s is known as the most disgraceful and sad times in the history of the Korean peninsula. It also was the time when many Koreans were suppressed to speak out their voices. Nevertheless, some people, mostly the intellectuals of that time, tried to express their thoughts and feelings through literary works. A poem named "When the Day Comes," by Korean poet Shim-Hoon, is one of those productions.
