Introduction
Abortion means that the woman ends her pregnancy deliberately so that the baby is not born alive.
By IPPF` report the number of babies born a year is 90 millions, the number of babies died by abortion is 55 millions, and the number of women died by operation to cause abortion is 200 thousands.
It`s a very serious level.
Statistics about abortion
In Korea, the abortion per year happens about 350,000 times. Among them, those who married are about 200,000, and those who not married are about 150,000.
Also, 36.6 percents of those who married said they have an experience of abortion.
The reason that women had an abortion
There are many reasons that women had an abortion. The major reason is that they didn`t want babies. Also, there is a legal reason, For women`s health or baby`s disorder. And, women had an abortion because of economical difficulty, age gap control, pregnancy before marriage, baby`s sex, and so on.
Koreans prefer boys to girls
The most unusual reason which is different from other countries is baby`s sex
