대한 오해로부터 발생하는 철학적 질병을 치료하는 한 사례라 할 수 있다. 탐구에서 볼 수 있는 논고의 언어관에 대한 비판이나 사적 언어관에 대한 비판도 같은 관점에서 이해될 수 있다.
둘째 비트겐슈타인은 규칙 따르기의 역설에 대한 논의를 통해서 규칙 파악에 대한 오해를 제거하고자 했을 뿐만 아니라 언어의 토대가 인간의 유아론적 사유가 아니라 인간의 삶의 형식이라는 것을 보이고자 하였다. 다시 말해 규칙 파악의 방법을 언어 사용자의 정신적 경험 내용에 기초하여 해석하는 것이 아니라 언어 사용의 실천 속에서 어떠한 경우에 규칙을 따르는 것이고 어떠한 경우에 규칙을 위반하는 것인지를 배우는 것이라 본 것은 바로 언어의 토대가 인간의 삶의 형식이라는 것을 말해 준다.
