1. What is Work Life Balance
Definition
Work-life Balance, as the word implies, is having control between one’s job and life outside their work. This can be achieved when an individual’s right to a successful life inside and outside paid work is accepted and respected as the norm to the mutual benefits of individuals, as well as business.

When it started
The expression \"work-life balance\" was first used in the late 1970s to describe the relationship between the worlds of work and of family life. (Wikipedia)

(TABLE) It’s about dominant work values among the different generations in the U.S. workforce. Among them, Generation X values flexibility and the achievement of job satisfaction. Although money is important indicator of career performance, they are likely to trade off salary increases for increased leisure time and expanded lifestyle options.

The Global Trend
In the current business environment, the “Work Life Balance” has become one of the most important concepts. This is suggested by a lot of executives and professionals. A very influential and well-known business thinker called Patrick Dixon said that Work-life Balance is a major key to keep best talents in a company.

He goes on saying that money itself doesn’t motivate people any more and adds that the more you pay for the best people, the quickly they will leave. Rather than money itself, people are motivated by their passion of a challenge, by being part of a family group, by being working with a friendly team, and to have choices in their lives and et cetera.
