interaction을 하여 안정화하고 있다.[1] 이러한 interaction이 solution 내에서의 의 값을 낮춰주고 gauche population을 높여주는 것이라고 예측할 수 있다.
하지만 기체상에서는 분자 사이의 거리가 너무 멀기때문에 interaction하기가 힘들다. 그렇기 때문에 gauche form이 solution 상태에 비해 안정화 될 수가 없고 그로 인해 anti form의 population 비율이 훨씬 더 커지게 된다.
실제 문헌상에서 볼 수 있는 gaseous state에서 1,2-dichloroethane의 raman spectrum을 보면 gauche form의 peak가 anti form에 비해 훨씬 작은 것을 확인 할 수 있다.
