The paper will discuss three different segments regarding the area’s characteristics listed above; 1) Seongbuk Stream: Along the Seongbuk Stream is a one-way street with outdoor restaurants and a sidewalk. With this street, pedestrians can walk through the neighborhood safely by some nature, instead of by the congested main road. 2) Local business street: Right in the division line of Samseon-dong 1-ga and 2-ga, there is a local business street with different stores for the residents in the neighborhood like markets, convenience stores, pharmacies, and cafes. This area’s walkability is crucial in the area because it not only provides everyday life facilities to the residents but also connects two neighborhoods and leads to the path toward Hansung University. 3) Hansung University: The campus requires strategic walkability because it involves a big number of students as pedestrians and has to lead them through the neighborhood to get to different transit stops.
