1. Definition
“The Commonwealth is an association of 54 independent states consulting and co-operating in the common interests of their peoples and in the promotion of
international understanding and world peace.”

United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand/ Malaysia, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka/ Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda/ Jamaica, Dominica/ Malta, etc.


2. Geography
The Commonwealth (blue = present members, orange = former members, green = suspended members, light blue = dependent territories of members)


3. Member Countires
1) 인구로는 21억 가량, 세계인구의 1/3
2) 5대양 6대주에 걸쳐 회원국이 산재함
3) 영국, 캐나다 등의 선진국과 아시아, 아프리카의 빈국 공존
4) 인도, 파키스탄 등의 인구 대국과 태평양 상의 소국 혼재
5) 영국, 말레이시아 등의 입헌군주국과 공화국의 정체 공존
6) 영국 국왕을 국가수반으로 인정하는 나라와 그렇지 않은 나라가 함께 있음
7) 탈퇴 및 회원 자격 정지
