Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
제 6 조
【1항】(연방책무) 본 헌법이 제정되기 전에 계약된 모든 책무와 체결된 모든 계약은 본 헌법하에서도 연합규약하에서와 마찬가지로 합중국에 대하여 효력을 가진다.
【2항】(연방정부의 최고성) 본 헌법, 본 헌법에 준거하여 제정되는 합중국 법률 그리고 합중국의 권한에 의하여 체결되었거나 체결될 모든 조약은 이 나라의 최고법률이며, 모든 주의 법관은, 어느 주의 헌법이나 법률 중에 이에 배치되는 규정이 있을지라도 이에 구속된다.
【3항】상기한 상원의원 및 하원의원, 각주의회의원, 합중국 및 각주의 모든 행정관 및 사법관은 선서 또는 확약에 의하여 본 헌법을 받들 의무가 있다. 다만, 합중국의 어떠한 관직 또는 위임에 의한 공직에도 그 자격요건으로서 종교상의 자격은 요구되지 아니한다.

The Ratification of the Conventions of nine States, shall be sufficient for the Establishment of this Constitution between the States so ratifying the Same.

제 7 조 (헌법 비준)
본 헌법이 이를 비준하는 각주간에 확정발효되기 위하여는 9개주의 주헌법 회의에 의한 비준이 있으면 족하다.
서기 1787년, 아메리카합중국 독립 제12년, 9월 17일 헌법회의에서, 참석한 각주의 만장일치와 동의를 얻어 본 헌법을 제정한다. 이를 증명하기 위하여 우리들은 이에 서명한다.
