1. South Korea
The whole age structure of South Korea in 2000 seems to be wider than that in 2050. But actually, there is a kind of standard for change at the point, age 45-49. From this point, we can see narrower age distribution at the base and more population at the upper side in 2050 than in 2000. This indicates that the rate of producing offspring per individual will be decreasing in 2050. Although the rate of producing offspring will go down, they are likely to live longer than in 2000. Therefore, the population at the ages, over 50, will be higher.
2. North Korea
The age structure in 2000 appears to show a growing population because of broader base than in 2050, but mortality rate also seems to be high. In 2050, there is no big different between each age distribution.
