Abstract
This study presents the basic information about the use of air curtains in fire safety, as a barrier for heat and smoke. The goal is to reduce the temperature that people feel in the opposite building from the outbreak of fire, and to prevent harmful gases from going as much as possible. Five top-installed air curtains and two bottom-installed air curtains are placed in our model. We found the most efficient location and combination to prevent fire and smoke. And after adjusting the flow rate, temperature and angle of the inlet, our team presented the optimal design. Results of this study are presented with regards to the performance of two air curtains in case of fire and smoke, and final design is given. Detailed effects of inlet flow rate and angle of air curtains are discussed.
