Fitzgerald's liking for rich company has often enough been noted. How did a man so sensitive as Fitzgerald come by what is almost a worship of money? I suppose, because nobody taught him anything else, and he was not an original thinker.
He was not an articulate moralist, with any conscious thought-out morali-ty.
