A Study on the Countermeasures for Act on Corporate
Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains through the Improvement of the Payment and Settlement System*

through the introduction of CBDC-
Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains guarantees the compliance of human rights obligations in corporate supply chains and stipulates internationally compatible human rights due diligence methods in accordance with the UN Human Rights Council\'s UN Human Rights Guidelines for Businesses and Human Rights Resolved in 2011. In terms of improving the payment and settlement system and improving efficiency in response to the Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains, how to establish a digital payment and settlement system is related to the introduction of wholesale CBDC. Wholesale CBDC is a method of managing bank reserves, so it has little impact on the financial economy. In terms of the efficiency of the payment and settlement system, when CBDC is issued, cash-related costs can be reduced as the use of cash decreases. In its second report on the development of digital currencies (CBDCs), the European Central Bank (ECB) is working with stakeholders to ensure a smooth integration of the digital euro into the existing monetary and economic framework, and emphasized compliance with the European Privacy Act (GDPR) and others when designing the digital euro. When a retail CBDC is issued by the central bank, a decision should be made on whether to introduce it in terms of whether to grant the right to hold legal digital currency to general private economic entities. Measures to mitigate the weakening of the bank\'s intermediary function include determining the appropriate level of compensation related to interest payments, limiting CBDC holdings or transaction volumes, central banks\' CBDC recirculation, and banks\' use of non-deposit financing.
