The definition of gambling is “the betting or staking of something of value, with consciousness of risk and hope of gain, on the outcome of a game, a contest, or an uncertain event whose result may be determined by chance or accident or have an unexpected result by reason of the bettor's miscalculation” (gambling). Therefore, all the activities that earn any accidental or unexpected gains could be classified as gambling. However, the term, “gambling” in this paper is used as casino gambling and its businesses. While the social problems of gambling are discussed in these days, gambling, in a lexical meaning, has an old history. According to an Encyclopedia, Encarta, dices have been found in ancient Egypt tombs and gambling has provided leisure to human being (Encarta). In US history, British have been pooled funds by issuing lotteries in the colony era of America (Mike). Gambling has been everywhere in human history. However, there are people who have negative perception in terms of the activity; gambling. The one of the reasons people claims is that they believe some chapter in the bible taboos gambling.
