guess what it will be like in the very near future.
John: Really. How about other business, Mr. Han?
Han: Clearly, nothing seems effect export and import and electrics, IT, cars in FTA
business. Even if our export and import volume reached up to the 7th largest
countries in the world, but our economy still seems slow. Currently exports
are going down, and the growing tendency in America and Europe to restrict imports isn't helping. The current world financial situations slow down and will continue related with the world economic situations. Many people in Korea
seem to have that impression, but I'm afraid our economy isn't as healthy as outsiders think.
John: Yes, but compared to most countries, Korean's economy is still pretty strong
with the 7th largest trade volume and present FTA with many countries
including the United States and EU in the future, isn't it?
Han: Frankly speaking, it is not quite sure! Rather, I think, there's been a lot of
diversification in industry with the future FTA with some optimistic and some
pessimistic view as well. In many cases, small and medium companies
in particular are hurting, and their bankruptcy rate has been rising steadily.
John: Well, fortunately there have been some favorable tends over here in the
economy especially Korea and America-Korea and other countries status.
Anyway, both countries of GNP are starting to rise again, slowly, but
nevertheless rising and increasing export and import.
Han: Well, considering the world economic situation, I think it is quite optimistic
about your economy.
John: That is really great expectation. It's still too soon to be optimistic about the near future. Also I think that Korean overall managements including export and import process and general information in the market are so important.
Han: It looks like both our countries are in a similar situation. But, in spite of it all,
a variety of standard IT, LED TV, smart and mobile phones fields and other advanced future robot industry together with so called Korean Wave "Hal-yu or K-pop" are greatly attracting a lot of attention throughout the world, I suppose we are very really lucky to be a part of it.
John：Well, it's quite clear that the success of Korean industries is due primarily
to skilled workers, highly developed technology with the government’s current
economic policy for more than 40 years and at the same time, there have
been a lot of diversifications in the Korean industries and others.
Han: Well, we have been a quite good time to discuss overall business topics with
you. Thank you very much for sharing your valuable time. How about a dinner
with me? Do you like old and traditional dishes such as Kimch and Bulgoki?
John: It is my pleasure. Anyway, I like Kimch and Bulgoki very much. It makes
water in my mouth. But it is very hot!
