7. Simulate the system made up of the one muffler segment using MATLAB with Simulink. Simulate your muffler using a sinusoidal volume flow rate input at circular frequencies of 50, 500 and 2500 rad/s (since you will be comparing input and output of a linear model the input amplitude is arbitrary). Plot the flow rate input and output at each frequency and write a paragraph or two comparing the differences in each. Can you explain why the 500 rad/s case is so different? 8. In the real world it would take forever to completely analyze or to build a muffler if you had to do a simulation for the entire frequency range that the engine can run at. For this we have a short cut, use the BODE function to produce a frequency plot for one segment muffler.
