The Story of Joseph
[요셉 이야기]




Jacob, the son of Isaac, married Leah and Rachel and had twelve sons.
이삭의 아들 야곱은 리아와 레이첼과 결혼하였고 12명의 아들이 있었습니다.

Jacob favored and loved his eleventh son Joseph
the most among his brothers.
야곱은 그의 아들중에서 11번째 아들인 요셉을 가장 사랑했습니다.

This made Joseph's brothers jealous and cruel with him.
그래서, 요셉의 형제들은 요셉을 질투하고 괴롭혔습니다.

One night, Joseph dreamt that he and his brothers were binding bundles of corn in field,
어느 날 밤, 요셉은 요셉과 형제들이 밭에서 옥수수 단을 묶고 있었는데,

and that his brothers' bundles bowed down to his bundle.
요셉의 형들의 옥수수 단이 요셉의 것에게 절을 하는 꿈을 꾸었어요.

Another night, he dreamt that the sun, the moon
and eleven stars bowed before him.
다른 날 밤에는 태양, 달 그리고 11개의 별이 요셉에게 절을 하는 꿈을 꾸었어요.

Joseph told his father and his brothers about these dreams.
요셉은 그의 아버지와 형제들에게 꿈이야기를 했어요.

This made the brothers more jealous and full of hate
towards their little brother Joseph.
그 꿈은 요셉의 형제들이 요셉에게 더욱더 질투하고 미워하게 만들었어요.

The brothers decided to get rid of Joseph.
요셉의 형제들은 요셉을 없애기로 결심했어요.
