ABSTRACT
A Study on the Baseball Team Director's Leadership

Korean baseball has recently made a great contribution to improving the status of Korean people and their national pride in international community as much as its economic capability. Baseball team directors' role and responsibility have gradually become important in this dynamic and diverse baseball environment. In association with responsibility, baseball team directors need to respond to their national expectations and demands by exhibiting their effective leadership, but the current situation is not so. One of the reasons why baseball team directors can not exercise their proper leadership in their teams is the lack of specialty of managerial leadership. Considering that baseball is performing a tyhpical role of Korean sports, it is not an exaggeration to say that success or failure of Korean sports depends on baseball tem directors' leadership. Therefore, a systematic and specific study has keenly been required as to the reality of their leadership. Accordingly, this study attempted to present the task to be resolved through a study of baseball team directors leadership and the future study to be conducted as follows.
First, in order to become an efficient baseball team director, he should set the goal valuable to players and direct the path for them to succeed in attaining the goal.
Second, directors should encourage their players to have a sense of master, And they should need to allow individual players to feel that they are the members of their team, not the property exclusively owned by the team,
Third, the baseball team director can provide the uniform act of reward for players' efforts and accomplishment of the goal, which is a very important element in attaining the team goal from the player's perspective.
Fourth, the baseball team director should enhance his player's level of satisfaction Individual players need to feel a sense of satisfaction. The high level of satisfaction if to arouse players' interest, motivate them to practice
continually and work harder and contribute to the objective and aspiration of team.
Finally, the baseball team director can maximize the performance of their player's training by taking urgent advantage of the diverse types of leadership and role presented above. The application of the type of leadership appropriate to the conditions is required in consideration of the comprehensive traits of players.
