본문내용

1. Proposition
In the war history of the world, there are many wars caused by misperceptions. The misperceptions include misperception of the adversary’s capabilities, misperception of the adversary’s intentions, and misperceptions of third states. As we can see in the historical examples, unfortunately many diplomatic policy decisions are the result of misperception. The Korean War is the one good example. There were many misperception cases in the Korean War and one of the misperceptions became the main cause of the Korean War . So I chose this proposition for my midterm paper; “Military overconfidence deriving from underestimation of the adversary’s capabilities or overestimation of one’s own capabilities is an important form of misperception leading to war.”
