Acute severe hyponatremia

Na <115 mEq/L, <48 hours duration

Sx: cerebral edema, non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema
Clinical settings
- postoperative state: 5% Dextrose infusion
(premenopausal women and prepubertal children)
- thiazide-induced hyponatremia
- psychogenic polydipsia

고농도 (3-5%) sodium solution 으로 교정
1-2 mEq/L/h for 3-4h 혹은 증상 호전될 때까지,
그러나 가능한 0.5 mEq/L/h or 12 mEq/L/day이하로
