A certain lawyer knew Moses' law very well.
어떤 율법학자가 모세의 율법을 잘 알고 있었어요.

When he stood up before Jesus, he wanted to put Him to the test.
그는 예수님 앞에서 예수님을 시험하고 싶었어요.

Teacher, What shall I do to inherit eternal life?
선생님, 영생을 얻으려면 제가 무엇을 해야 하나요?

율법에 어떻게 적혀있는가?

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind.
당신은 하나님을 진심으로 사랑해야 합니다. 그리고 온 영혼을 다하고, 온 힘을 다하고, 온 마음을 다해야 합니다.

You also shall love your neighbor as yourself.
당신은 또한 이웃을 내 몸처럼 사랑해야 합니다.

The lawyer answered correctly.
율법학자는 정확히 대답했어요.

But he did not know correctly who the neighbor was.

A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho.
어떤 한 남자가 예루살렘에서 예리코로 가고 있었어요.

Then robbers stripped him and beat him
and went off leaving him half dead.
그때 강도들이 나타나 그의 옷을 벗기고 때려서
거의 죽은 상태로 버려두고 가버렸어요.
