Park : Well, business monthly and I also plan to visit a friend.
Officer : How long do you plan to stay in the United States?
Park : Oh, I think, about two weeks at most.
Office : Oh, sir, you may go customs now.
Park : Thank you, very much.
Office : May I see your passport. sir?
Park : Yes, of course. Here you are.
Officer : What is the purpose of your trip, sir?
Park : Well, I'm here on business and meet my friend here.
Officer : Are you carrying any commercial items?
Park : No, just catalogues and a few papers.
Officer : And you have just one suitcase?
Park : Yes, and my attache case and this shopping bag.
Office : Do you have anything to declare?
2. 해설
입국절차 중 세관검사가 가장 까다로운데 이때 소지품에 관한 여러 가지 질문을 받는다. “Do you have anything to declare?” “Anything to declare?” 라고 물으면 품목명을 말한다. 주로 입국자의 신고 대상은 담배, 주류, 향수 등이다. 이 경우 Just some small gifts. Not very expensive 등 금전적인 가치를 표시해야 한다.
다음은 공항통과시 사용되는 표현과 입국심사를 마친 다음 세관에 관한 것을 Notes에서 다시 설명한다.

비지니스상담차 입국하였을 때는 입국심사를 마친 다음 여러 가지 여행목적 및 신고품목에 대한 질문이 예상되는 세관을 통과한다.
입국심사를 마치고 짐을 찾은 다음, 끝으로 세관을 통과함으로써 비로소 그 나라에 입국하게 된다. Immigration에서는 체류기관과 그 동안의 예정에 대한 질문을 받게 되고 이어서 Cus- toms에서는 소지품에 관한 질문을 받는다.
금기 품목의 취재와 물품의 금액 사정이 주된 목적으로써 이루어진다. 고액물품 등은 각자가 가입한 세관신고서(Customs Declaration Form)에 기준해서 질문을 받게 된다.
