The Mediating Effect of the Shared Value on the Relationship between Procedural Justice and Organization Citizenship Behavior

This Paper attempted to examine relationships among organizational justice, organization citizenship behavior, and shared value as mediated variable. In this study I chose two factor(distributive and procedural justice) of organizational justice and four factors with regard to organization citizenship behavior. Consequently I chose shared value as mediated variables. The analysis of mediated effect tested mediation using the three-step mediated regression approach (Baron and Kenny, 1986). Data were collected by 261 full-time employees. The results of three-step mediated regression supported partially mediated effects between organization citizenship behavior and its antecedents.
Regressions showed that procedural justice strongly related to shared value, organizational citizenship behavior. And shared value affected to organizational citizenship behavior. On the relationship of organization citizenship behavior and its antecedents, procedural justice were mediated by the mediation variable, but distribution justice not mediated by the shared value(mediation variable). However, evidence of fully mediated on the relationships between procedural justice and organization citizenship behavior was found only for courtesy. Altruism, civic virtue, sportsmanship partially mediated the relationship between procedural justice and organization citizenship behavior. These results seem that procedural justice shows a strong relationship to the mediated variables and organization citizenship behavior excluding distributive justice. Research and practical implications of these findings for the procedural justice and organization citizenship behavior are discussed.
