교재 Unit 15 “Why I Want a Wife”는 제목만 보면 글쓴이가 남성일 것 같지만 사실은 여성 작가가 여성이 겪는 어려움에 대해 비판과 위트를 담아 쓴 글이다. 이 글을 반드시 참조하여 “Why I Want a Wife” 혹은 “Why I Want a Husband”라는 제목으로 영어로 작문하여 제출한다.

B. Unit 10 Witches

1. 글을 읽고 Salem witch trials에 대해 알 수 있는 사실
① In 1892, a group of young girls who were possessed by the evil spirit were indicted for cursing the village.
② The first witch trial began in Salem to hang the first convicted witch, Bridget Bishop.
③ People of all ages and both sexes were accused and endured resentment for centuries until they were found innocent and acquitted by the Massachusetts General court.
④ At that time, groundless belief that the witches who were devoted to devil harmed others was widespread in colonial New England.
⑤ Disease such as smallpox, the fear of war with near-by tribes and so on were rampant in the rural puritan community of Salem village.
⑥ The circumstances that threat the residents’ survival instigated the Salem witch trials.
