1. Reason of Choice
We choose the Nordstrom Corporation among 100 best companies from Fortune magazine in 2009. Because the Nordstrom has been known as outstanding customer service as well as distinctive internal promotion system.
The Nordstrom’s human resource system manages various huge stores and employees successfully. Furthermore, the Nordstrom has great unique policy. This policy gives motivation to staffs and provides the best services to customer. The contents of policy is use good judgment, be respectful, be transparent, be humble, be human, and be a good listener. So, we will give a presentation about more details next time about Nordstrom’s human management system.

Nordstrom operates 112 full-line department stores, 68 Nordstrom Rack clearance stores, two Jeffrey Boutiques, and one final clearance stores all located in 28 different states. They have recently sold (2007) their stand-alone boutique chain. Nordstrom also operates a retail bank based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nordstrom plans to open approximately 50 stores within the next 10 years and has already publicly announced 26 store openings through 2012. Among them will be stores in Phoenix, Naples, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Charlotte, Nashville, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
