84. 또한 돈 때문에 불 경건한 자와 하나님의 원수들로 하여금 그의 사랑을 받는 경건한 영혼을 구하도록 허락하면서, 그 경건한 영혼 자신의 필요를 위하여서는 사랑하는 마음으로 그를 구해내지 않는다는 것은 하나님과 교황의 어떤 새로운 신성함인가?
85. Again : Why is it that the penitential canons, long since abrogated and dead in themselves, in very fact and because of nonuse, are still redeemed with money, through the granting of indulgences, as if they were still valid.
85. 또한 참회에 관한 교회의 법규는 사실상 오랫동안 사용치 않았기 때문에 폐지되고 사문화되었는데 왜 아직 돈으로 인한 면죄증 부여를 통하여 구속해 내는 것 같이 인정하지 않으면 안되는가?
86. Again : Why does not the Pope, whose riches are at this day more ample than those of the wealthiest of the wealthy, build the one Basilica of St. Peter with his own money rather than with that of poor believers ?
86. 또한 오늘날 제일 부자의 재산보다도 더 많은 재산을 가진 교황이 가난한 신자의 돈으로 행하는 대신 차라리 자기의 돈으로 성베드로 교회당쯤은 세울 수 있지 않는가?
87. 또한 완전한 참회로 충분한 사면과 속죄에 대한 편리를 가진 사람들에게 무엇을 사하려 하고 무슨 영적 은혜에 참여를 주려는가?
88. Again: How much greater would be the benefit accruing to the Church if the Pope, instead of once, as he does now, would bestow these remissions and indulgences a hundred times a day on any one of the faithful ?

89. Since it is the salvation of souls, rather than money, that the Pope seeks by granting indulgences, why does he suspend the letters and indulgences granted long ago, since they are equally efficacious ?
89. 만일 교황이 면죄증으로써 돈보다도 영혼의 구원을 생각하였다고 본다면, 무엇 때문에 그는 오래 전부터 주어 오던 증거나 면죄증을 정지하는가? 똑 같은 효력을 가졌음에 틀림없지 않는가?
90. Repressing these scruples and arguments of the laity by force along and not solving them by giving reasons for so do ingis to expose the Church and the Pope to the ridicule of their enemies and to make Christian men unhappy.
90. 일반 세인이 열거한 반론에 대하여 떳떳한 이유를 들어 해결하지 않고 다만 권력으로만 억압하는 것은 교회와 교황을 원수의 조롱거리가 되게 만드는 일이요 또 그리스도인을 불행하게 만드는 것이다.
91. If, then, indulgences were preached according to the spirit and mind of the Pope, all these questions would be resolved with ease; nay, they would not exist.
91. 그러므로 만일 면죄증이 교황의 정신과 의도에 따라 선전된다면, 이 모든 문제(Bedenken)는 쉽사리 해결되었을 것이다. 아니 그것은 존재하지도 않았을 것이다.
92. Away, then, with all those prophets who say to the people of Christ, "Peace, peace," though there is no peace.

93. Blessed be all those prophets who say to the people of Christ, "The cross, the cross," and there is no cross.
93. 그러나 그리스도의 백성을 향하여 "십자가, 십자가"하고 부르짖는 모든 예언자들은 축복을 받을지어다. (사실) 십자가는 없는 것이다.
94. Christians should be exhorted to strive to follow Christ, their Head, through pain, death, and hell;
94. 그리스도인은 형벌이나 죽음이나 지옥을 통하여서 머리되신 그리스도를 부지런히 따르도록 훈계 받아야 한다.
95. And thus to enter heaven through many tribulations rather than in the security of peace.
95. 이같이 하여 그리스도인으로 하여금 위안에 의해서보다 오히려 많은 고난을 통하여 하늘 나라에 들어가는 데 더욱 깊은 신뢰를 가지게 하라(행14:22).
