할 가능성이 높다.
이러한 사실들은 현재 진행되고 있는 지구화에 대한 인식의 전환과 보다 적극적인 대응을 요구하고 있다. 지구화가 이제까지 민족단위의 사회생활이 새로운 방식으로 재구성되는 것을 말한다면 개방적 민족주의적 시각이 무엇보다도 중요하다(임현진, 2001). 다시 말해 그것은 경제 및 문화적 종속을 거부하고 자유주의, 민주주의, 평등주의와 보편적인 인간계몽을 적극적으로 받아들이는 것으로 구체화될 수 있다. 기존의 국가이기주의적인 발상에서 벗어나 국민국가간의 새로운 연대를 모색하는 이러한 개방적 민족주의야말로 앞으로 호혜평등의 지역적, 지구적 질서수립을 위한 기본 조건이라고 볼 수 있다.
